It may not be a reset back to the way it was but, by God’s power, it could be a reset forward to new ways of living. In this series we will look at some of the resets that will mean change for the better.
In the World
Core Truth: Jesus He makes it clear that while we do not belong to the world, we have been sent into it so that others would believe. Like Jesus we are on a mission!
Core Truth: It is good to look back on the grace of God in our lives and give thanks for all that He has done. Pastor Sam looks back over 50 years of following Jesus to highlight God’s grace and His call to know and serve Him.
Core Truth: God has called all of His children to follow Him on mission together. This can seem so daunting that we step back in fear. We need a mission reset that comes from the Holy Spirit to reach out to a lost and hurting world starting where we live.
Core Truth: It is God’s purpose that His church are equipped to serve and minister in the world every day. We have a choice to serve ourselves or sacrifice to serve others as Christ did for us. We need a reset to discover the privilege and power of serving others.
Core Truth: It is easy to get distracted and out of routine when life is not going by the pattern that we are used to. Spiritual disciplines provide us with healthy habits to maintain our relationship with God. We need to reset our habits so that we run with purpose.
Core Truth: During the Pandemic, we were reminded of the precious value of relationships. God has made us to be loved and to love. We need a reset to invest in good relationships and to love as God loves us.
Core Truth: Faith must be tested if it is to be strengthened. We don’t like it but we can find joy because we know that God is at work and He that will sustain us. We always need a faith reset and it starts with prayer.
Core Truth: Life is fragile and unpredictable. If we have learnt anything through this Pandemic, it is that we need more than Netflix to give us hope. We need something that is dependable and steadfast. We need a reset into living hope.
Core Truth: We worship because of who God is and how He has made us. It is a gift that becomes a way of life for the believer. We need to reset the priority of worship in our lives and not limit it to places or feelings.
