Our Team
Alan Shantz - Lead Pastor
Alan Shantz has been Lead Pastor at Albright since March 2008. For more than 25 years he served several Southern Ontario congregations as Lead Pastor or Teaching Pastor before moving to Winnipeg. He is a graduate of Emmanuel Bible College (B.Th.) in Kitchener Ontario and Canadian Theological Seminary in Regina Saskatchewan (M.Div). Nothing makes his heart beat faster than seeing lives impacted by the love of God and radically transformed by His indescribable love.
Alan's teaching and leadership at Albright reveal this passion as he brings focus to the overall ministry and provides teaching that is both bold and grace-filled. He accepts people where they are in their spiritual journey while striving to inspire them to find the satisfying and adventure-filled life that is only available to those who are 100% devoted to God.
Alan and his wife Cindy have two married sons who are actively serving God in ways consistent with their passions and spiritual gifts. If you don't see Alan in his office studying or meeting with someone, he is most likely walking in a park with his wife, riding the open road on his motorcycle or officiating a hockey game.
Sam Devine - Associate Pastor, People Development

Sam Devine joined the team at Albright as Associate Pastor of People Development in April 2010. Sam is originally from Ireland and has made the move to Canada with his wife Judith and two sons, Christopher and Nathan. They are excited about the adventure that they believe God has called them to. Sam originally worked in a University laboratory in Belfast before studying and training for the ministry, and he has since served as a Youth Pastor in Belfast, Church Planter in Donegal and Pastor of Limerick Baptist Church.
Sam's passion is to see people begin their journey of faith in God, to belong to a caring church community, and to become the person God has created them to be. Part of his responsibility at Albright is to lead the process that helps people move along the pathway of grace, wherever they find themselves. Sam comments, "I believe Church should be a place where people can be accepted by grace and freed by truth."
Sam enjoys most sports especially soccer, tennis, snooker and swimming. He realizes that those might have to change to ice hockey, skiing and baseball! Watching a good movie or trying out the latest coffee shop are other ways he likes to relax. If you would like to chat with Sam drop by the office, or meet him at your neighbourhood Tim's!

Albright is a big part of Lorna's family heritage, having grown up in the church. She has been on staff since 1993, working in the general office as church secretary and as Church Administrator. Lorna is one of the 'cheery voices on the other end of the phone', part of the team serving the needs of the congregation and providing information and resources to the community.
Lorna's main role at Albright is to manage the church's physical and financial resources. Her variety of daily tasks are a necessary part of keeping things running smoothly behind the scenes. Although 'business' describes her role, she enjoys having fun too—both in and out of the office! Singing, reading and vacationing recharge her batteries!
Cheryl Goings – Children's Ministry Director
Cheryl Goings' role as Children's Ministries' Director is to provide direction and leadership to all the programs for children from birth to grade 6. Part of her job is to develop teams of youth and adults for this ministry but she won't be far from the kids herself—‘high-fiveing' them as they enter the church, admiring a new baby, talking with a preschooler, or leading some portion of the kids' service! Her passion is to see children become more aware of who God is and grow in their relationship with Him and to enable others to find their place on the team.
Cheryl and her husband Brian enjoy family times with their kids and grandkids. Each member of the family contributes to the family's musical heritage—singing or playing an instrument. They'll likely never become a traveling family musical group but they enjoy "making a joyful noise to the Lord"!
Paul Kimball – Worship Ministry Director
Paul has been the Director of Worship Ministries since April 2004, and has thoroughly enjoyed the privilege of serving Christ and the Church in this position. Paul believes worship is a wonderful response from God's people to God, and to have a hand in helping our Church in this response is a great way to serve God. He is glad that Worship is an everlasting activity, and gets excited when he realizes that we are just getting our feet wet in worshipping God. What will it be like to worship Him in heaven?
Paul is married to Linda, and they have three great children, Alana, Brad & Candace. They also have three cats and one dog sharing their home. Paul and his family, with the exception of the pets, have been attending Albright since 1999, so they are in their 2nd millennium with the Church!
Linda Kimball - Receptionist & Pastor’s Assistant
Linda began working in the office on a part-time basis in November of 2006. She is responsible for providing ministry support as needed to the leadership and staff at Albright Church, and is also one of the 'cheery voices on the other end of the phone'!
Linda, her husband Paul, and their 3 children, Alana, Brad and Candace have been attending Albright since 1999, and feel blessed to be a part of the Albright family. Linda's favorite past-time is gardening and on her days off can be found out in their yard, no matter how bad the mosquitoes are!
Doris Plamondon – Church Custodian
'Whatever you do, do it as if you were doing it for the Lord'—and that can include emptying trash cans!! Doris Plamondon has been serving the Albright community by emptying trash cans--and much more—in her role as Janitor of the facility since 1997. While keeping the building clean, her cheerful smile, listening ear, and words of wisdom are a regular source of encouragement for staff! To see some of Doris' published 'words of wisdom' just look for cleaning or 'user' instructions posted throughout the church (including washrooms)! Life at Albright (especially staff meetings & coffee breaks) just aren't the same without Doris!
Doris and her husband John have a family of 4 adult children. They are enjoying the “empty-nest” lifestyle, dining out, vacationing when possible, and spoiling their grandchildren.
